Trojan Thunder
I have been dabbling with this one for a while and I am now trying to reduce the shelf of Doom models to a manageable amount I am converting an Italeri KC-130F to KC-130J Harvest Hawk with the addition of some aftermarket resin from Jen's Bits, Hamilton Hobbies and Attack Squadron, as well as some scratch building. The latest work has been to start adding the antennas and other lumps and bumps. I could not resist a test fit of the tanks and pylons as well.

skyhawk174
Wow so cool. Those aftermarket sets, what were they? I know the Attack Squadron is probably the engine nacelles.

Major Walt
Very nice would do far! Did you include an interior?
Trojan Thunder
I did not bother with an interior as it was to be closed up. I just splashed some paint in the cockpit. I managed some more work, my pitot probe production line (for 3 C-130Js), probably not totally accurate but some adjusting will occur when installed Fitted and forward ECS intake position corrected The duck tail is too long for the KC-130J so some adjustment was required and sensors attached, again not accurate as I could not find any good enough images from the right angle for correct placement of the sensors Final antennas and ramp bumper (which Italeri has omitted from all their C-130 kits) installed and now it is time for some paint, @Dutch it looks like the decals you sent over won't be used and I will have to go with plan B. The colour callouts are a bit odd compare to other decal manufacturers so I will be using Wolfpak decals for it. But never fear, I have a cunning plan to use the decals you sent over for another build 😄
The Madhatter
cool subject Ray! I like what you've done with it so far mate. Looks really good One day I should bust out my Gunship version of this bird. I will enjoy watching you build yours in the mean time 🙂 Got a scheme in mind?

Dutch
Ray, I like it! Keep a goin'! Glad that you will use the decals for another project. BTW, what size rod did you use for your pitots? .010, .015, .020? Probaably the larger size judging from the photos. Looks very good. I will look up one of those Hamilton C-130H conversion sets as I will need most of those parts for my KC-130T-30 build. And just waiting for Dave to release his decals. Trojan Thunder
Thanks Dutch, Not sure on the size of the rod, I pulled it out of a draw with all my spare card. I found a resin duck tail for a RAAF C-130H and it had a similar config, so I cut it up and attached it. I have since sanded the excess putty and added the outermost bumps to it as well. Also started some paint and then masking of the walkways Edited January 21, 2020 by Trojan Thunder
Dutch
Ray, After hearing stories of walkway decals disappearing on the paint, I have decided to follow your example and paint the walkways first, then mask them and paint the darker color. Looking very good, my brother! K/r, Dutch PS [ What's that silver four motor in the background? ]

I was trying to finish mine before the end of this month. Not sure if it will get across the line at this stage.
Dutch
Ray, Nice FW-200B. I knew it wasn't a US bomber, was struggling with my knowledge of British designs, and then assumed it might be a French design, of which I am woefully ignorant. But, alas! You have answered the question and she looks very nice, of course! K/r, Dutch
Trojan Thunder
I almost forgot that the 2 exhausts on right wing had not been fitted, so I tended to those. These are a set a mate made up to replace the inaccurate Italeri versions Then the painting was started, After some touch ups I need to mask off and paint the metallic parts, and black exhaust areas. The external tanks are also in the paint shop and I need to start masking up the camo pattern on those.
