Wally Wallnut
Gentlemen, Just finishing up a F-105 D in the Memphis Bell II markings and would like to hang two MK-118 as seen in the small picture from the book " Roll Call : THUD " on page 55 . Unfortunately I can not determine exactly which pylon to place them on , to me it looks like the outboard might be the one . If anyone has any definitive answer or photos of any F-105 D with Mk-118 slung beneath a Thud could please post them ? Thank You ! Wally Wallnut
Stefan buysse
Hi, I don't recall ever seeing them on the outboard pylons. I have the Cobra Company 1/48 F-105 armament set and it includes inboard pylons for the M-118's. Cheers, Stefan.
jabow
Here's a model I built for pilot and this was configuration he gave me. (Hope this works) Six on centerline Edited December 19, 2019 by jabow
Stefan buysse
Hi, Bo, I can't see your images. But if you have six on the centerline, I'm pretty sure it's not the 3,000 lbs M118. Six on the centerline would usually be the 750 lbs M117. I'm pretty sure I've seen Mk- 84's on the outboard pylons of F-105's, but never M118's. Cheers, Stefan. 11bee
Inner wing pylons and centerline (less common) only.

What shocked me was the 2.75 FFAR they carried. Just like our gunships; but, with aerodynamic nose cone. Bo

Wally Wallnut
Da SWO, Thanks for that image ! It does help because it shows that the MK-118 is on the inboard pylon . Not only that , I had some time to go though some more of my reference material any find charts and another photo of a F-105 in flight with this configuration . Thank again and sorry for the delay in responding to your reply . Wallnut
MarioP
I have this photography , from Pinterest , Donald J. Kutyna sfotografowany przed swoim F-105 Thunderchief ...
Spruemeister
750 M117s. The 118 as noted is a 3,000 pounder. Now 6 of those on a scratchbuilt MER would be a heck of a good gag. Rick L.
Whiskey
I'll take a stab at it. Is that a Mk 118 on the inboard pylon?
