Timmins
i've got one question for the expert. I am building a commercial business jet in 1/48 scale. Cessna Citation by Haseguawa. Almost complete. The real jet is glossy. Do I complete it with a clear finish. a glossy finish or a flat finish. Thanks in advance for your help
Gambler
Any aircraft that I have modelled that have a glossy finish in real life, I use a satin finish on.In my opinion, gloss finishes on scale models just doesnt look right, it makes them look like a die cast model, or a toy, but that is only my opinion, and there will be plenty that dont agree. I would go for a satin finish. Cheer's, Jeff.
airmechaja
I agree. Satin or semi gloss will be the ticket. Gloss is for decaling.
Napalmakita
Both! I find mixing clear finishes breaks up the shine and gives a look of "high" n "low" spots where paint coatings getting worn out. I like the spotty, blotches look personally.
