Dutch
As noted in the Academy 1/144 B-1B thread, Academy is indeed set to release a new-mold 1/144 B-52H kit in 2020. Kit #12622. If if is as good as their B-1B kit, it will be a game changer! R/ Dutch Edited January 9, 2020 by Dutch

Paul Boyer
Hope they don't take "notes" from Modelcollect!🤨
andrew.deboer
That is great news! Hopefully they gave that project to the same team that did their B-1B, and also have that team doing a B-2!
skyhawk174
So this is good news. Does that mean I can stop hunting for the Revell kit? I think that kit is someone else's moulds anyway. A different version too right?
USAFsparkchaser
If we get the decals I could see myself getting like 20 of these kits. Also that means we will need some good resin weapon updates to cover all era’s. Also hope they do D,G kits as well. Well done Academy! If we can’t get a good 1/72 I guess we will get 1/144. Gator52
I’ll look forward to seeing this, and curious to see the parts breakdown. I’d like to see markings for options other than just Barksdale/Minot; several other great options from the 80s/90s if details such as antenna configurations are accounted for. Jonah Yes 80/90’s Minot, Fairchild, KI Sawyer, Carswell! Am I missing anyone that was using H’s during that time frame? Weapons ALCMS and AGM-129’s. I second the antennae configuration. I think they flew both G's and H's, but I could be mistaken. I just like the Statue of Liberty on the tail...and the fact I watched them get refueled sitting in a KC-135 as a teenager. Gator52
You’re correct, both Gs and Hs at Griffiss. The Hs were only there for a couple of years before the base closed. I do like the big Statue of Liberty on the tail, but I also really like the short-lived ‘GR’ tail codes on the Hs that appeared as a result of the SAC to ACC transition. USAFsparkchaser
Ya Griffins had H’s they were depicted on the last Caracal B-52 sheet, but I believe they flew G’s in Desert Storm.
ElectroSoldier
Edwards AFB 6519th TS 6510th TW Fox One did a nice 144th scale sheet a number of years ago. 144 would make a nice desk model but there are so few 144 PGMs to put on it.
Dutch
I believe that Caracal will be scaling down their excellent 1/72 B-52 decals to 1/144 for these kits. Kursad has already released CD144005 for the modern H, which should be perfect for this kit based on the pre-release photo. He has released CD72077 of SAC/ACC era B-52G/Hs in the SIOP & Strategic schemes for the new Modelcollect kits. Once scaled down to 1/144 as CD144020, they should fit any G/H kits. mungo1974
Really do hope Academy nail this one. And if we get a B-52G option too from them later down the line that would bloody awesome
Colin K
I hope they will have the dropped flaps option.
USAFsparkchaser
For everyone that likes B-52 stuff. Please contact Metallic Details and please request B-52 resin, for this upcoming kits and also 1/72 antennae’s, weapons/pylons.
Dutch
Has this kit been released yet? According to SCM page, one person has it in their stash already.
Gator52
Dutch, I haven’t seen any updates on the B-52, but finally picked up the Academy B-1 today and completely echo your praise of the kit’s detail, and I certainly hope the BUFF kit is of the same caliber! Ben Brown
I hope they follow it with a Vietnam-era D. I’d happily (well, almost happily) paint the yellow nose stripes on a bazillion little bombs, just to have a nice D on my shelf! Ben
Dutch
Has Academy released the 1/144 B-52H new tool kit yet? On the SCM entry, I see one person has it in his stash, however I can't find it anywhere, even for pre-order at the usual online Japanese hobby sites.

Makes you think that person doesn’t actually have it in their stash.
