LF Complete 1/35 Academy H-60 main rotor system

Recommended Posts

I recently acquired an Academy 1/35 MH-60G kit (2201). It is missing all of the main rotor parts off the B sprue. Does anyone have an extra B sprue or a complete main rotor system for it. Any of the Academy 1/35 H-60 kits will work as the B sprues are the same in all of them.

Let me know what you have and we can work something out.

I am gathering the parts to do an early UH-60A from Grenada.  I figured the Academy -60 was best to start with since it doesn't have all the later braces and stiffeners added to the fuselage like the Kitty Hawk kit.  I also already had the Cobra Company open exhausts and some other parts for it.  It is still a couple builds down the road, but I will post pics once it gets going.

Sweet. My old unit. Let me know if you need info. Do 23327. That's the last bird I crewed before I got unit. She was a veteran of the op.

Tim,

It looks like your old ride (79-23327) is/was for sale.  If you have about $1million, it could be yours.

Check this out:   https://gsaauctions.gov/gsaauctions/aucdsclnk?sl=91QSCI16123601

If you go through the maint record, it goes back to B Co, 82nd CAB in Jan 1981.  I am guessing that is when it was first put into service.

Here is a sort of recent pic of it as well.  Looks like it was a MedEvac as part of the Arkansas National Guard as of  Oct 2008.  Looked pretty nice then.

Update: Apparently it was sold, I think, maybe it was transfered, not sure.  It was listed as civil registration N160CV owned by Unical Aviation as of Dec '18.

Apparently, Unical reconditions the helos and offers them for sale to foreign governments and civilian users.  Searches also show they rebuild them as Fire Hawks too.  Maybe that is how it will continue to serve.

I emailed Unical to ask what they plan on doing with it.  I'll let you know what/if they come back with anything.
