dai phan
Hello all I am building the Hsegawa 1/48 F104 and the instructions call for drilling 1.6 - 1.8mm holes so the clear lights can be inserted and painted later. It seems to me a better approach is NOT to drill and paint the lights with clear color lights afterwards. A toothpick will do the job and likely to give better appearance. I do not have precise mm drills so anyone who had built this plane can give me an advice? Thanks Dai
Bob Beary
I'd drill a dimple halfway or so into the plastic. A 1/16 drill bit is about the right size, based on your noted size. Paint it silver, add the appropriate clear color and overcoat if necessary with a drop of gloss. Bob
