Will be watching both 20,000 Leagues and The Final Countdown, two of my favorite movies. From harpooner he joined the US Navy, rose through the ranks and later became commander of the USS Nimitz. habu2 Posted February 6, 2020 Share Posted February 6, 2020 An icon, he will be missed. My grandmother lived to be 103. Right before she turned 100 a local newspaper came to interview her. She was telling the young reporter all the things she had witnessed in her lifetime. The Wright Brothers. The Great Depression. World Wars I & II, Korea, Vietnam. On and on. After listening intently the young reporter said "gosh, I don't know if I'd want to live to be 100" She leaned over and said "Sonny, you would if you were 99...."
