haneto
First finished work in Rat Year, during past several weeks at home because of the coronusvirus which prohibited going out and extension of Lunar New Year holidays in China. In Chinese culture, red means celebration so I hope the special moment could be settled down ASAP. Kit: Airifx: front fuselage+windshield+canopy, Italeri: other parts. Aftermarket: Master 1/48 metal pitot tube Reedoak 3D scan 1/48 camera man

Its amazing how "White" the decals look, on top of the red paint - seemingly no bleeding. Outstanding build, start to finish and love the diorama!

A bit too late though...hope you don't mind. 🙂 On 2/8/2020 at 11:25 PM, Rocketdrvr said: Love that Photographer! Where did you get him from? Your Hawk is amazing! Excellent idea with the nose graft! The figure is by Reedoak, 3D scan+3D print. It's just the 3D photo, unlike traditional hand sculpted figures, it IS the real thing itself. Some pastel dry brush can easily make the jean alive. 😉 On 2/9/2020 at 9:16 PM, SQLModeller said: Very nice! Love that glossy look did it take a lot of polishing? If do what did u use? Actually I did not polish the surface, I only sprayed Mr. Color GX100 super clear coating. Sprayed by high pressure and thickly, the final result is quite acceptable I think. So it's always my motto to get best effect with least effort/time. This also applies to my model kit designing, if you have built the GWH Su-27 & Su-35. Life is short so we need to please ourself as much as possibie by some time as short as possible. Cheers.
janman
That's an awesome model! With a right sheen for a Red Arrow machine too! In a way it sounds stupid that I then pay so much attention to your figure - which looks extremely life like! Those jeans especially, wow!
John Tapsell
Reedoak figures are generally available in several scales and various different themes (lots of aircrew from various nations and eras). There are three different civilian photographer figures. The figures aren't cheap but they are excellent. http://reedoak.com/#!/Modern-civilians/c/13281251
jonbryon
This is a wonderful model. The body work on that nose is excellent (as is everything else). Jon
