K5054NZ
Hi all, Can anyone help me out with this? I’m after the propeller from any boxing of Hobbycraft’s 1/48 Otter. I’m in New Zealand. Many thanks in advance!
phantom
I have a suggestion, cut out a round clear piece of plastic sheet. Make it look like the engine is running. Then all you have to do is create the prop hub.
Rick McPherson
Use a propeller from any 1/48 WW 2 US Navy aircraft. F4F, F6F or Avenger. Easy to buy a cheap one somewhere.
K5054NZ
Thanks for the suggestions, gents. It’s for a “Tora! Tora! Tora!” Zero replica. I’ll have to check my references on the subject aircraft and look at the USN types. I don’t at all like the look of “running” engine effects and it would stand out among the rest of my collection. But thank you for being kind enough to make a suggestion. Edited March 5, 2020 by K5054NZ
Drifterdon
Zac, I checked my 1/48 Otter kit and the prop is almost identical to the props found in the Monogram C-47 kit. Probably easier to locate than the Hobbycraft Otter which is getting kinda rare these days.
K5054NZ
Thanks @Drifterdon, that's very helpful to know!
