arnobiz Posted March 3, 2020 Author Share Posted March 3, 2020 I started with the intakes as this is, in my experience, the most annoying thing to deal with 🙂  First, remove the ejection marks  Then, glue the halves and putty  Finally, cut at about 1.5in from the inlet with a PE saw to facilitate painting of the grey front/white aft parts of the intakes  The bits of plasticard all around ensure perfect reassembly 🙂  Cheers,  Arnaud Quote Link to post Share on other sites
arnobiz Posted March 4, 2020 Author Share Posted March 4, 2020 This morning I focused on the bottom fuselage: Closed MLG doors: Drilled holes in the bays to help position the doors flush (by inserting a toothpick and pushing back if the door sits too deep). Fit is quite awesome, very little filler required 🙂 Internal in-flight support rod through the center exhaust port, reinforced by pouring PU resin between two temporary walls made of plasticine Drilled the holes for external loads     Cheers,  Arnaud Quote Link to post Share on other sites

arnobiz Posted March 4, 2020 Author Share Posted March 4, 2020 Thanks Steve. I started tackling the upper fuselage, with the intakes upper vents. GWH provides nice PE replacements which require cutting out the original plastic grills. In order to cut just the right size I measured the PE grills and made a vinyl cutting template using my Silhouette Portrait:  The grills were then fitted using UV-curing glue, first time using it and I must say I'm very impressed: super convenient and much easier than CA glue 🙂  Cheers,  Arnaud Quote Link to post Share on other sites

arnobiz Posted March 6, 2020 Author Share Posted March 6, 2020 The main cockpit parts are painted on the sprue, as the tabs are out of sight 🙂 All OOB, very nice decals are provided for all screens and bezels   I also added locating stops for the Aires exhausts as their outer diameter is barely smaller than the fuselage inner diameter   Cheers,  Arnaud Quote Link to post Share on other sites
