Trumpeter 1/32 F-18E VFA-143 Pukin’Dogs

Recommended Posts

Well after dragging my feet for three years, I have finally finished this monster. Trumpeter kit, Eduard PE sets, Quick Boost ECS vents, Wolfpack Design GBUs, Northstar wheels/tires, and Fightertown decals. Scratch built cockpit details/wiring, venting in the intakes, landing gear details, fuel panel/door, canopy/A/C power panel/door, venting on LEX, nav lights on LEX. Had to shave off the built up area on the tails where the slime lights are, both on the inner and outer tail panels. Also drilled out every rivet on the aircraft as I found them to be soft. Painted with Vallejo acrylics and finished off with VFA-143 Pukin’ Dogs decals from Fightertown. Overall satisfied with the kit, but would have liked a little more detail. The fit of the kit was very good, did not have any real issues in that department. I would recommend this kit as long as you are willing to fix the tails as that added build up where the slime lights are is just to big to overlook.

Scott,

Impressive looking "Super-bug," you did a very nice job on it. A lot of positive things about

it, to say the least. I had to go back and double-check your introduction, because the way

the decals look - I thought you might of painted them on... job well done!
