NA P-51D "The Enchantress"

Recommended Posts

Hallo, only small step, scratch new connection between pedals and rudder wires. Dashboard is Eduard Look, I only filled few drops of gloss varnish with little bit clear yellow to the instruments glas. The greener shade is due to exposure.

Thank you Falcon.

Small step today. Installed signal light and wire, scratch both lights and wires and wire between gunsight and selector. Also added rope from gunsight to throttle handle. On the side of cover, where are lights and selector connected also added rivets from HGW production.

Hello gentlemens,

currently I finished internal part of cockpit. Long work, lot of things will be invisible after fuselage close, but I´m satisfied now. Next step will be cockpit sides and engine frame.

Thanks guys for your positive comments, it´s new energy for me everytime... 😉

Thank you Brett!

Finally, I finished right side of fuselage, ready to surfacer now. On engine frame are lot of tubes which will connect to the firewall. Some wires and tubes will add after fuselage and engine closed. Next step will be final painting of right side of fuselage, I need some change... 😁

TD,

I'm really enjoying the, "Above and Beyond" of what you're doing with this model. What

are you using for your references? Continue with the wonderful efforts... "surely all the

extra time spent will be worth-it when its completed."

Great work!  I'm amazed at how you fabricated that signal lamp on the IP shroud.  By the way, if you weren't aware, that was an indicator light for the tail warning radar set.   If the warning radar got a contact, the light would illuminate (and a bell would ring in the cockpit) to warn the pilot to check 6.   Just want to make sure your subject had the tail warning radar fitted (this was standard on most late production P-51's but some pilots removed it in the field).

Keep up the great work.

Hallo 11bee, I´m glad you like it! You are right with function of signal lamp. I found it on Enchantress pic, but I didn't know what it was :-) Fortunately we have the internet, some hours with work with original pics and Mustang instruction manual and "voilà" :-) Here is signal lamp on Enchantress:

Thanks :-) References? 99.9% internet, study of original photos and especially Mustang instruction manual. The last 0.1% is a deduction, an experience of how which part can work.
