dai phan
Hello everyone... Closer to completion. Had to order a new sheet of decal for the fuse walk way as the instruction on the decal sheet is wrong ( right should be left and vise versa). I wondered why panels lines do not line up as they should be. Got the Hasegawa Weapon set D and completed the TACTS pod. Dai

dai phan
Happy Friday everyone... All painted ready for installing to the plane... It is strange that Hasegawa only provide enough decals to do 2 GBU-12 while there are 6 of them ! The same goes for the TACTS pod. One set of decals for ONE while there are 2 in the set. WTH??? Also, the FLIR Pod wasn't in service for the time frame you are doing (1977) so if you are going for a historically accurate load out you might want to leave it off. Here's a load out that would be accurate; Station 1 and 8 - GBU-12 Station 2 and 7 - MER Station 3 and 6 - Drop Tank (or if you want Drop Tanks on station 3 and FLIR Pod on station 6 but it won't be historically accurate) Station 4 and 5 - AIM-9G/H The above load out would be historically accurate and just a recommendation. hth GW BTW: The loading diagrams in the kit instructions aren't very accurate, they tend to lean to what is physically possible to be loaded then to what was actually authorized. Hi, Do you have a photo on how the GBU-12 is attached to the outer pylons ( stations 1/8)? I cannot find on the Net. The GBU -12 mounting may involve entirely differtent pylon that what is on this kit and/or additional rack. Thanks Dai Edited May 22, 2020 by dai phan

GW8345
Load the GBU-12's directly to the wing station pylons you have installed, no extra suspension equipment (bomb racks) required. When I was in A-7's we always flew GBU-12's on (what's called) parent rack pylon, we only used MER/TER's for GP Bombs, CBU's (Mk 20/CBU-59), Rocket Pods, Flare Pods, and practice bombs. You can load a single bomb directly to the pylon. The suspension system is the same as on a MER or TER.

The pod on the left wing and the second pic is an ARDS Pod, it is shorter than a TACTS Pod. A TACTS Pod will extend about three inches past the end of the launcher, an ARDS Pod does not extend past the end of the launcher. Load the pod with about 1.5 mm extending past the back end of the launcher and you will have it loaded correctly. hth GW Edited May 23, 2020 by GW8345
