Ryan Hothersall
The new 1:72 Airfix MiG-17F built in Polish markings using ModelMaker Decals MiG-17 in Polish Service part 2. Will be built as No 1912 which is today preserved at the Ashburton Aviation Museum on the South Island of New Zealand. I visited the museum on 8 September 2018. MiG-17F-2 by Ryan Hothersall, on Flickr It is good to have a reasonably priced and fairly easy to get kit of the widely used MiG-17F as I plan on building quite a few. First one of these I have built, so a couple of little things I will have to improve on the next one, a small gap in the intake splitter etc. Generally a good build and but needs a lot of weight to stop it being a tail sitter. This one has just enough weight in it. ModelMaker decals went on without any major issues, but getting individual number decals lined up was a bit fiddly.
