hawg53
I was wondering if anyone knew of a decal sheet with markings for the USAF H-19 Hop-A-Long? I know it’s a very specific helicopter, but one I would like to model. Thanks. Bob
JohnEB
Caracal has it on one of their 1/48th sheets...the trouble is the only 1/48th is the ancient Revell kit that was old when I was a kid (my older brother build me one to play with...I'm now retired 🙂 ). Image the nerve of Revell selling the kit for $23.00...when it's the exact same kit as it was when it was 98 cents...it was a huge hit in the '50s, the tooling costs were likely paid for during the Eisenhower administration. Remember, Hop-a-Long was an "A"...the Italeri 1/72 kit is of a "B" with the slightly angled tailboom. Of course it's a minor difference, even the helicopter marked as "Hop-a-Long" at the National Museum of the Air Force in Dayton is a "B".
