dai phan
Hi all I bought this at my local store for 7 USD that it cleans lacquer paint out really well. Even better than the Mr Color thinner and leaves the color cup shinny in seconds. Dai
is it windy yet?
Just remember that stuff is a lot stronger than mr. thinner. Works great in cleaning paint from the airbrush, as you say better than the hobby brands. Just don’t use it on styrene.
zeus60
What store did you buy that at? I don't think I've ever seen that brand. Stacey
Mstor
For cleaning airbrushes I just get whatever cheap lacquer thinner is available at the local hardware store. As "windy" said, don't apply directly to styrene as it will craze the surface. Mr Color lacquer thinners and Tamiya lacquer thinners can be used directly on styrene. I used them to remove Mr. Color and other lacquer paints from plastic.
dnl42
Exactly as @is it windy yet? and @Mstor wrote. The hardware store stuff for cleaning your airbrush and mixing equipment. MLT for thinning paint. Plain Mr Color Thinner for stripping paint from your model as well as shaping Mr Surfacer 500 and Tamiya Putty. I did a complete strip down the the P-51D, Bad Angel, in my current sig.

This is ONLY for cleaning and it does clean really well. Makes color cup shinny clean in seconds. Dai

admiralcag
Hardware store lacquer thinner is great for cleaning! Vern
Helmsman
Indeed. I also use it sometimes to thin Mr. Color pains for airbrushing when need quicker drying (compared with leveling thinner).

dai phan
I found out something about this cleaner. Do NOT use it to strip paint of plastic items. The juice will MELT them. Dai
is it windy yet?
Yeah that is what I meant when I said just don’t use it on styrene.

They are much milder.
