waza
what are the chances of doing a B29 Mothership with the stork and tail numbers with Bell X1A and X1B in 48 scale?
KursadA
Wouldn't a series of new B-29 sheets be great? There are so many interesting airframes to do, including the Bell X1 carriers. Unfortunately I have too many projects in flight right now - the B-29 is a new type that I don't have the infrastructure (base drawings, dimensions etc.) for, and I don't have it on the drawing table now. I will definitely consider it for next year (2021) though.
Paul Boyer
Just be aware that the drop ships for some of the later test vehicles were B-50s - and that is another subject that could use more attention!
waza
ha but we are talking about B-
waza
Kursada that would be great thanks
Corey
I’ll just put this right here:
KursadA
There is also Fu Kemal, it’s a shame nobody had build up the courage to make decals for it 🙂 Edited May 2, 2020 by KursadA
Corey
Lol, it would be very easy to do an entire sheet of very inappropriate B-29 markings!
Joe Hegedus
I'd settle for a good sheet of markings for "Torchy", T-square-27 I believe. The only decals I know of it are in the rarer-than-hen's-teeth Hasegawa issue of Monograms's kit. Edit, added image. She's a redhead with dark blue dress. Stefan buysse
Hi, Thanks, Charlie D. Some great pictures right there. I don't think I had seen "The Thing", "The Pacific Pioneer" or "Boeing's Boner" before. I suppose "The Thing" is from a horror movie, I'll have to check IMDB for that. "The Pacific Pioneer" is love at first sight an instant favorite. And of the third one I didn't even know that the expression was around in WW2. Cheers, Stefan. Paul Boyer
Actually, "The Thing" was a 1950 novelty song recorded by Phil Harris (and others) about a mysterious box found on the beach (hence the artwork): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thing_(song)

That certainly makes for a haunting piece of nose-art. Imagine Climbing into that aircraft for a trip to North Korea! If you hadn't shown the correct explanation, I might have thought this movie inspired the nose-art. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044121/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_6 Cheers, Stefan. KursadA
I’m sold, guys - I will definitely do some of these; but I have too many ongoing projects right now. Rest assured this is on the future subjects pile.
