Hello Nico! Welcome to this forum. In my opinion, it is the best Real Space forum!

We understand you very well ... and this build looks like it is going to be very interesting to watch!

Do you have plans for this model? Will it be a combination of Metal machining and styrene or mostly machined metalwork?

And will it be a cutaway as it looks on the LM link that you provided?

Thank you for showing this to us and please continue to keep us updated!

Pete

Hello

yes it will be a lot of machining I will take it on my own so some things will have gone through test phases

luckily i'm passionate about watchmaking so the little one doesn't scare me

I use the link as a pattern
more lots of photos to be fair
in the end I would like to represent him as in the factory before the break of his panels
his is how i would like to represent it really its structure plus the wiring etc.
I don't know if it will be possible on this scale

You should have no problems with all those lovely details at that BIG scale you're building.

This is my LM that I built over 10 years ago and it is 10cm tall. 1/48 scale.

The Apollo Lunar Module is a favourite of mine ... I shall be watching your progress!

it's beautiful it's the first time that I see one with its apparent structure

I have a lot of photos of the construction of the LM but not enough if you have any I'm interested

we find few photos of the construction of LM in detail

the LM is a vehicle that I also really like

I'll see if I still have my references and see if the links will still work.

I'll help you as much as I can!

Back then, 2007 or so, I bought the book Virtual LM and there is a LOT of wonderful references and a CD was included ... I remember seeing many  many photos of the structure on that CD.

The level of detail you wish to include is completely your choice! Your scale seems large enough that adding these rivets will certainly enhance the look of the model, but, you may get overwhelmed with the number of rivets needed ... but, we will definitely appreciate the amount of detail you DO include!

There is a watchmaker on YouTube, "Clickspring", whose work, even though it isn't watches, amazes me! He was building an Antikythera mechanism and his quality is outstanding!

Hubble,

This looks like a nice project to watch. Space models are so intriguing, and have always

captured my imagination. Your LM model has the possibilities of being a classic, looking

forward to seeing what you'll accomplish.

thank you so much The underdog
we will see in the future, this may be a very long project 😁

God willing, time is not a problem. If you promise to, "Stay the Course" - we'll be here

watching and waiting with great anticipation!

Some references ... I did a search for Lunar Module LTA-1 and got these 6 images ...

A lot of links I used are broken Nico, not really a surprise after 10+ years ...

I'm sure you already have a lot of these but I hope these will help.

Hubble,

I, too, am watching this build.  Uhu makes some very nice paper models.  Using that as a starting point is a great idea.  Keep up the good work.  I can't wait to see what comes next.

Fantastic,

Randy

Hello

Thank you for all your great compliments

It makes me very happy

I can move on tomorrow I will explain to you how I bent the wands

I made a cross mounting to avoid the deformat and to keep the good measurements

I also went back to work so less time was spent on it

Hello Nico,

Hope all is well with you. Your Lunar Module is progressing nicely, as I'm sure not too

many modelers have the skills and vision needed to, start and complete a project like

this. This is one for the books, or should we say... for everyone to relish and enjoy! I'm

having a "Personal Party" - watching the progress, and being amazed by the results.

Nico, I found these on my old Mac. They are from the CD in the book Virtual LM. There were many more on the CD but these are images that I definitely used in my build of the 1/48 Cutaway LM.

These are low resolution for this forum, but each image is over 1 MB.

If you would like the LARGE files, let me know here, and we'll arrange something.

Hope these help!

Pete
