Its time to do a color study on the closest Orange color before I glue the side windows on and close up the fuselage.  International Orange is hard to find in acrylic paints since i dont want to use lacquers. I need to pick an undertone color as well. I will try flat brown, black or burn umber. I also heard that in order to make the orange more vibrant is to paint a primer coat of pink instead of white, i will try that as well. I have never painted so much orange but I am up for the challenge.  I am also trying to find a 1950/1960 US Army truck in 1/32 scale but no luck so far, if anyone finds one in that scale I will buy it from you.

I have always been under the impression that the old Monogram military vehicles were all 1/32.  Scalemates says some are 1/32 and some are 1/35.  When I saw your request this is what I thought of:  https://www.scalemates.com/kits/monogram-6400-troop-carrier--265093

Apparently Renwal made several vehicles in 1/32:  https://www.scalemates.com/search.php?fkSECTION[]=All&q=1%2F32+Army+truck

The Monogram M34 truck is actually, 1/35.

The Renwall (reboxed by Revell) wrecker is 1/32.

They are both very old ('60-'70s?) and pretty devoid of details.  If you really want either, they can be found on eBay, not cheap though.

Heres the 1st part of the color study. Only one coat applied so far and very little coverage even with white primer so its gonna take a bit of time to paint this large helicopter.  My choice is #1, it appears the closest to International Orange. Now its time to do some preshading and fading study with the same brand of paint. Off to getting more paint.20220116_115836.jpg

Part 2

The flat brown shading doesnt work at all, too many coats of orange to cover.

I will try shading first then white primer then orange....this is tricky for sure and i am glad i am experimanting with it first.

You are doing such a fantastic job on this build that my comments are probably useless, but looking at the three pics I posted above, I don't see panel lines?

If you look at your last photo you can see some evidence of panel lines, this photo helps a lot cause I will probably match to that.
