Andrew Maverick Taylor Posted June 1, 2020 Share Posted June 1, 2020 (edited) Completed this Italeri 1/48 RAF Tornado GR.1 Operation Granby "Armoured Charmer" using the Gulf War boxing. Kit was built as a desktop model therefore I left out the cockpit parts and blacked out the canopy at the painting stage. Paints used were Tamiya XF-57 Buff for the main colour then bleached it out with varying shades of the same colour. Decals were a mix from the kits and from aftermarket sheets. TIALD pod and Hindenburg tanks were taken from an Airfix kit as well as the "Sandra" decal on the pod. Display stand is from a Tamiya 1/32 P-51 Mustang. Overall the kit went together very well however to get the best alignment I used plasticard strips and also deviated from the instructions when assembling the fuselage joints.
