Is Tamiya black X-1 a good coat for NMF?

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

I ran out of my favorite Badger Stynylrez black primer for my NMF so is the Tamiya X-1 acrylic black a good substitute? I like the Badger because the layer is so thin that it does not hide details. Thank you for your expert replies ! Dai

It should be. You might apply it to a piece of scrap plastic (and then the metal color of your choice), and then assess the result.

X-1 is my go to for Alclad NMF. Works very nice. Not sure about other NMF brands.
