Allan31
I like building olde plastic. Scalemates says this kit was originally issued in 1956, my version is bagged and came out in 1966. Slightly damaged in the bag, it fixed up nicely. I redid the front air intake areas with sheet styrene and smoothed it all in. I scratch built an interior, added belts, instruments and such. The rotor needed some attention, I used two similar sized brass rods to make a shaft and it's receptacle for correct pitch. Shot with good 'ol FS34079 and a dusting of the same with white on upper surfaces for subtle fading. A coat of Future and "Print-Scale" decals went on just fine with no problems. I made my own masters for the side windows and vac-formed them, I used the kit front windscreens as masters and vac-formed them as well. All other windows are Testers clear window maker. As it happens, this is only the second helicopter I've ever built, the first was the Revell in 1/48 scale when I was maybe 6. Edited August 26, 2020 by Allan31
Loach Driver
I remember building that kit as a kid. You have done wonders to update it. Nice result. LD.
Winnie
rotor goes the wrong way, otherwise a superb rendition of an H-19A
midnightprowler
Well done. How did you spin the rotor?
JohnEB
I'd almost forgotten about that one. About as old as the 1/48th Revell kit...which is still in production last I heard. Nice decals... Makes a nice straight-tailboom ship.

After this one, I did the Airfix HIND, also 1/72 scale that I can post if anybody is interested. Edited August 29, 2020 by Allan31
