Night Owl Models
I was so looking forward to this build I found a paint scheme I had never done before for the CVW-11 aboard the USS Nimitz. The first hurdle I should have taken as a hint this build was not going well was the Black dog interior detail kit it had so much distortion I had to kit bash the detail kit. The worst part was the decals I ordered decals for the unit from Authentic Decals. They looked great but when wet just desitigrated I was mortified I applied Micro Scale liquid decal film to try and rescue them. They were literally like tissue paper I got them on but they silvered I tried laying down some future first then the decal then decal softener but I could not fix them. So here is the result not at all what I expected too bad the units decals were not made by another company. Note the decal on the air intake Arrrggggg! Custom made blade restraints. Wolf pack folding tail after market set. You can see the decal on the air intake again grrrrrrrrrr! A few construction photos Primed and post shading Blue tac putty camouflage mask. Making custom mask for tail markings. Thanks for looking Dave

Janus
Hi Dave, I have just come across this post, and, wow, impressive build. Where may I obtain drawings or exact details of the blade restraint as I hope to build my own. Janus

Night Owl Models
I just used alot of very detailed photos that's all I had to go with. Now that I have been learning CAD and 3D printing my own parts I could measure and reproduce these with better detail. I'll try to fit it into my schedule if your interested we can chat off line about getting a set to you. That was a black dog interior conversion kit and a tail conversion kit. I think the exterior detail set was Eduard.
