mppd@yahoo.com
Can anyone post anything close to a 3-view of the turbofan engine nacelles on a B-52H? I am trying to determine how far off the kit nacelles are - after seeing so many negative comments that the kit's nacelles are up to 20 percent too small. Thanks. ElectroSoldier
The kit items are shockingly under sized. The dark grey engine is a resin replacement of the correct proportions. It still has the casting gate attached to the front of the engine. This is the rough textured portion, everything after is the engine. Not only are the engines to short front to back they are to narrow side to side too making them just over all comical Edited November 2, 2020 by ElectroSoldier

ElectroSoldier
I dont know how they compare to the engines from the Modelcollect kit. I dont remember anybody here saying anything about them being to small
mppd@yahoo.com
I think that the engine nacelles are about the correct overall length but that the fwd cowl areas could be of slightly larger diameter. Will give that a try.
ElectroSoldier
Its MUCH larger over all. I doubt you could take the kit engines and beef them up enough... Well, I mean all things are possible. Its hard to demonstrate just how large the difference is without putting them together.
dehowie
If you want decent H engines there are 3 choices. Buffmaster, Lonestar and Modelcollect. The resin ones from Lonestar are pretty good but both require some accurate cutting and cleanup. Buffmaster are similar but slightly rougher surface texture. Modelcollect are same sized and look very decent.
habu2
Does Modelcollect sell individual sprues?
Paul Boyer
I don't know about the size, but the Modelcollect nacelles need a lot of work to look "very decent."🤨
