Da SWO
Anyone know the dimensions of the Benson Tanks in WC/HC-130's? Photo's would be helpful too!
aircommando130
You could put 2 in the cargo compartment side by side with a 1 foot catwalk between them. The aft end came back just past the wheel well. The front stopped just forward of the wheel well. They always leaked and sometimes didn't feed to the wing tanks. Only carried them a few times in the MC-130P... when we got the UARSI installed with the SOF modifications we got rid of them. Cheers...Ron
gmat
The bensen tank were the same as the ones in the KC-97G/Ls. Perhaps you can get info that way. Have you tried to contact Bernie Barris at the AWS Association? He can probably provide you with the WC-130H dash one PDF or pics from it of the interior. https://www.airweaassn.org/Library/AFW Historical Images/WeatherRecon/index.htm Grant

In the LOL category, I searched the forum and came up blank, but a duck, duck, go search gave me a link to a thread here. Worse comes to worse, I'll go to Kelly and measure the tires on a trailer and use my mad "PI" skills to come up with some close dimensions. I have time, as my engines are not here yet.
