Looks to me like 5 swipes with a sanding stick, and that intake is fixed.  Good news!

Yep.  Shouldn't be hard to round the edges.  I'm sure someone will come along and produce a set of more accurate seamless intakes for this kit down the road.

Although judging by the pictures of the real Super Hornet it looks like the intake edges are fairly thick and MENG could be right. The only thing that is noticeable is that the edges are more rounded.

Yes, the outside and lower edges are fairly thick and rounded, but the top and inner edges are quite sharp, must has some thing to do with aerodynamics.

great wheel bays details. Seems a very good good kit to me. The assembly of the air intakes is a bit bizarre to paint with that internal dividing line between white and gray

I am not sure about the load. Do the SH fly with GBU-16 and GBU-24 as provided by MENG?

What is the usual current load?

4 x GBU-16 was a very old loadout, current when first Superhornet a/c were deployed with VFA-115.

And I remember maybe one pic of a Superhornet with a GBU-24.

IMHA, these loadout (GBU-24 in particular) is provided because of the Topgun 2 trailer.

Thank you

I've seen many pictures with GBU-12 and GBU-38.. would this be the current load?

The mission dictates the load out. For Close Air Support or armed reconnaissance missions especially where collateral damage is a factor then I've seen pics of Super Hornets carrying a mix of GBU-12, GBU-38 /54 and AGM-65.

It depends on the period, location and mission.

OEF: GBU-12, GBU-16 and Mk-8X

OIF I & II: GBU-12, GBU-31

then GBU-38, GBU-12, sometimes L-MAV

OIR, Iraq and elsewhere

GBU-38, GBU-54, GBU-12

then GBU-32, GBU-54, GBU-38, GBU-12

then GBU-12 disappeared

then GBU-38 disappeared.

Nowadays, GBU-54 has the lion's share.

Hopefully this release will spur some new decals. I. haven't seen any new decals for the Super Hornet lately, and there are a bunch of really nice new schemes that the squadrons have been putting on their planes.

any interesting decals for the single seater?

I'm sure there are many.  However, "interesting" is subjective.  What's interesting to you might not be interesting to someone else.

nice VFA-31! VFA-143 blue tails also seems nice.

VFA-143's markings, in my opinion, translated over to the Super Hornet better than any other squadrons. They just look "right" on the Super Hornet. Most of the former Tomcat squadrons didn't look all that great until they started tweaking them. Of course, you could say the same thing about the Phantom/Tomcat transition. I'm looking at you, original VF-142 markings.

I've also seen this sheet but I do not know in which scale it is
