SHM is on the vendors list for Nats.  Seeing that the convention is in Vegas, any odds posted that they will be there?

I visited with Mike in early June and he was planning to be at the Nats.

So he is still around. Two years on I'm still waiting for him to fullfill his part of a "trade" when he eventually dropped off and stopped replying about delays.

I sang praises before, not anymore.

I’ve got a Vegas layover on Thursday. Hopefully they won’t be sold out by then.

Sorry to hear that.

Hello,

He does plan to be at the Nats in Vegas.  I will be sharing one of his three tables.  I know he is working on new things, he showed them off at a show in San Diego in June.

Sorry to revive this old thread but I was wondering if there's been any news about Sierra Hotel? Are they still in business? I've never ordered from them before and would some feedback if I decide to order.

Thanks in advance.

Sierra Hotel is very much alive and well. Mike and Pat have recently released a number of new sets, and almost the entire line is currently available. The 48ers recently received a fairly decent sized order also.

Based on this thread, I went ahead and ordered direct from SH for the first time on 9/21.  They have some really good looking items, especially their GWH A-10 upgrades.

No order confirmation email from them.  PayPal sent a payment notification email.  When I checked PayPal, it is showing the payment hadn't been accepted yet and the recipient doesn't have a PayPal account.

10 days later, still the same status.  I used their chatbot and it does show an order for me in process (based on the invoice # from PayPal).  I sent a message via their chatbot to get a status on my PayPal payment and to just confirm their webstore is actually up and running correctly.

10 days isn't something I normally would worry about, but the PayPal payment still being pending is a little odd.

Since Dave is an industry peer, its safe to say they are in business. It's probably nothing, just backed up with orders but if you'd like to reach out further, I found their contact info on FB.

Mikevaldez@sierrahotelmodels.net

They also have a phone number listed for you to try.

Hope that helps,

Mike

I had the same experience. After days of the money not being accepted, it was returned by Paypal. But then a few weeks later, I received a package from them. I resent the money, in the hopes it would make it to Mike. If not, I'll mail an old school check. Crazy

I eventually received my order from back in October, and then placed another order in late Dec.  Several emails requesting a status and still nothing.

His products are actually really good, which is why I decided to order more.  But at this point, it might be safer to buy from one of his distributers like the48ers.com.

Did you ever receive your order?

Mike finally responded to me on 1/29, telling me he had issues with being evacuated for the wild fires.  That sucks, no problem.  Paypal had returned the payment by that point, but he had already packed the order.  He directed me to re-submit the order using the regular CC payment option.  I didn't really think anything of it since he came through on my last order.  After re-submitting the order, crickets for another week or two.

I had to ping him a couple times before he finally responded with a tracking number on 2/13, saying it would be picked up the next day.  It's now been two weeks and the tracking still shows waiting for drop off.  Also worth noting the tracking number was created on Dec 27th.

I sent yet another email on 2/22 asking what's going on with the tracking not showing it moving through the USPS system yet.....again crickets.

So in summary, he packed my original order quickly within two days of the original order in December, purchased a label for it, but for whatever reason, he hasn't managed to not get it dropped off at the post office for two months.

Absolutely terrible service.  This was a large order, around $156.  I'm giving him until Monday 3/3 to respond, then I'm going to dispute the charge with my CC company.
