ChesshireCat
I'm in the hunt for a new face mask. Looked on Amazon, and saw two or three under fifty dollars that looked good enough, but are they good enough? My question is what are you all using? gary
RichardL
This is what I use when spraying any types of paint, including acrylics: 3M 6211PA1-A Dual Cartridge Paint Spray Respirator
RichardL
Using a good fitting, high quality organic vapor respirator is of paramount important since your health and your brain cells should come before your hobby. Don't cheap out on it.
zeus60
I use the same as Richard, and will second his comment on the importance of safety in this hobby. Stacey
godfrey1775
+1 - Been using the same one for about a decade and it works great and filters are long lasting and are not expensive
RichardL
Great 👍 The replacement filter cartridges are under $15 from Amazon: 3M 6001 Organic Vapor Replacement Cartridges People should be getting a respirator with replaceable filters and not the less expensive disposable version where the cartridges can't be replaced. godfrey1775
I use an empty coffee can with an old filter secured to the lid as my airbrush cleaning pot.
RichardL
Found even cheaper replacement cartridges on Amazon (under $13): 3M 6006 Multi Gas/Vapor Cartridges
ElectroSoldier
3M Scott Duraflow FH1 Readpack Powered Air Respirator (prosafetyservices.co.uk) I found these are much much more comfortable that any of the fly masks the guys wear, you can have it on hour after hour and not even notice Edited January 2, 2021 by ElectroSoldier
