Space Tiger Hobbes
Would anyone have a link to the old Monogram 1/48 F-19 instructions or a scan of the instructions they could send me? Thanks.
Dutch
Do you mean Italeri/Testors F-19 ficticious stealth fighter or Monogram F-20 Tigershark? Click either link for a downloadable copy from SCM.
flanker27
Or try this https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/0/9/6/145096-89-instructions.pdf
habu2
I remember seeing Loral ads in AW&ST with artwork depicting the design used for the Monogram kit. Monogram also released a 1/72 snap-fit version of this kit.
Space Tiger Hobbes
Thanks! It's the Monogram kit, not the Testors kit. It was indeed Loral advertising. Not sure I knew Scalemates had instructions.
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
Yep, the Testors got all the attention, and the Monogram was mostly overlooked.

Space Tiger Hobbes
Which was a lot bigger, swoopier and sexier than this other one, which more resembles the model:

Jay Chladek
It may have been overlooked, but they are a fun kit to build. I did mine a few years back and decided to do up the coloring in something resembling the EDI UCAV from the 2006 movie "Stealth".
Jay Chladek
One thing that is nice about this kit, if you mess up the landing gear the main struts and wheels are the standard Monogram F/A-18 tooling. The nose gear is from an F-5E. Also worth considering if you opt to try and put landing gear on the 1/72 Monogram snap tite F-19A kit which was offered for a longer period than the 1/48 kit (even though it came out after the 1/48 kit). habu2
The box art on original release of the Hasegawa 1/48 A-7D had an "F-19" in the background. Hard to see here but this is the only pic I found online: above image from https://www.scalemates.com/kits/hasegawa-07013-a-7d-corsair-ii--931495
Space Tiger Hobbes
That's what it looks like to me, too. 😄
Ben Brown
I built both the 1/48 and 1/72 versions and have them stored away right now. One of these days I’m going to redo them in modern camo and markings. Ben

Spruemeister
Shigeo’s artwork for that A-7D kit is a genius bit of tongue in cheek. The kit artwork subject is for the actual A-7 cover unit for F-117 pilot training and proficiency. The real stealth fighter. While the fake one is flying in the distance. Well played Koike. I wish I had a good framed example of this print. Rick L., Monogram F-19 fan.
