Been busy with the build..Here are a few photos of what has been done. Got the cockpit done with Eduard PE. Honestly I did another build and used the Quinta set and I know this once my current inventory of Eduard PE is used up I will only use the Quinta offerings... I have also finished the exhaust and have the fuselage all done and have attached the nose section. I eliminated the seam where the exhaust shrouds attach also the seam on the wing glove leading edge. These are no fun that's for sure. That's it for now.

More progress on the Tomcat.....I made good use of different types of mottle mask templates. I really like the results.

This is the most realistic weathering I've seen on a Tomcat model, Bravo Zulu!

It seems lately that most modelers try to go to extreme and make their Tomcat the dirtiest Tomcat ever and IMO they are way over done. Your weathering is spot on and should be emulated by others.

Ah Thank You..I agree some are over done. I try to find that balance. With each modern NavAir build I find something new to try. This one was using those splatter templates on top of the paint. I sprayed highly thinned colors as well as slightly thinned Tamiya panel line wash through them. Then used a Creos PS770 and "filled" in some of the spots leaving a tiny bit of the dark color showing.. So decals are about done. Just one set of pictures today. I did one group of decals today thats right one...and its from Fightertowns sheet 48087. This is the chrome silver band that rings the perimiter of the Exhaust shrouds on the GE engines. These tried my patience to the extreme but I got them to where I was satisfied. The part that was extremely difficult was getting it to line up on the tiny rim of the shroud. I could get it lined up But as I worked around the side previously lined up would slip off it was a xomedy of errors as I'd go back and forth....Aye ya ya....But overall I love these and it really adds to the build. Tomorrow clean up decal residue  and then the gloss coat sealer followed by the wash and final weathering. The a semi flat seal coat to finish it off....By weeks end I should be done....
