Hasn't hit my age group yet, but my in laws and parents all got their first ones. No issues other than some arm soreness. They'll all get their second ones over the next 3 weeks starting next week. I know several people who have had it, 2 passed, 3 ended up in Hospital, one of them came out as a diabetic, no idea if that is permanent yet, others ran the whole gamut of having no symptoms (asymptomatic) to minor cold for a few days to being wiped out for 2 weeks. We're talking all ages groups here from mid 30s to 70s. One of my sisters childhood friends, her husband, mid 40s, no underlying conditions, just got out of hospital and is still on oxygen after being on a ventilator for 2 weeks. My sisters brother in law, same age, no underlying conditions, basically got the sniffles. It's like russian roulette with this thing!

2 of my sisters came.down with it. Weren't hospitalized, but they felt crummy for a while. One of my wifes FB friends had a similar experience; he too has been on O2 since leaving the Hospital. I think he just got off of it now...

COVID is definitely a thing and i dont want any part of it!I

Stay safe!

My dad got first shot, 2nd scheduled in a few weeks. Hasn't reached my mom's age group yet. Late 30s myself so who knows when I'll get mine.

I was exposed Christmas day, 4 days later symptoms hit. The next 3-4 days was crushing headache, fever and back ache. I spent time either in bed or a hot bath. Lost my smell and taste the week after, with difficulty getting deep breaths. No dry cough. Really about a month of extreme fatigue. I still had high oxygen levels through the course of it. I can only imagine how awful it is for those that had it worse.

Keep taking precautions, its no joke.

i had both of mine from work. First shot mild headache, second one minor backache. Still trying to get my wife vaccinated. She's 69 so she qualifies but here in South Jersey it's really hard for the average person to get one.

I got both shots first one did not bother me. Second one, woke day felt a little fatigued and slight backache. As soon as I hit the 24hr mark after second shot it really hit, headache, body aches all over, super fatigued, felt chills but no fever. Next morning was just fatigued, no more aches and headaches though. At the 48 hour mark was fine.

I have a letter verifying I'm a front-line healthcare worker but the county's distribution process is so F'd I'm waiting until they get their act together.  That and work has had me so busy I haven't had time to go through the sign-up process to get an appointment.

The county did such a bad job other organizations have stepped in to help dispense the vaccine and things are getting better, but they still have a long way to go.

Got mine. First shot just had some weird cramps that first night and then that was it. The second shot hit me like a ton of bricks. 48 hours of chills, fever, headache, it was not pleasant. But after that it was all gone. Funny enough my spouse had no effects from either shot.

Our injection plan is a letter to Santa Claus. Everyone in my family is an essential worker in high risk covid. Heck, we have 60 staff and 200 inmates down where I work. No plans on needles for us.

Both daughters work in a nursing home, and they got their shots all ready. They just had stiffness after the second shot. I think Canada is like 30th place in first world countries getting the shots out, we have less then 2% of the population vaccinated.

I get my brain punctured by a giant q-tip in an hour. Last week the nurse shoved the q-tip so far up my nose I lost the ability to do math. Least I'm still negative, for now.

Are you against all vaccines?  Asking for a friend....

I don't get flu shots and I don't plan on getting the C-19 vaccine. Regarding anything else outside of that, tell your "friend" it's quite simply none of your business.

Then why even mention your not getting one!

My wife (nursing home nurse) got her second shot last week, and had nasty reactions to both.   Her doc figures it's because of her fibromyalgia, which is an autoimmune disorder.  We both had Covid last summer.  I just had a nasty cough for a couple weeks and extreme fatigue for a few days, but she ended up in the hospital for over a week.

The OP's question was about the Covid vaccine. I answered that specific question and just mentioned the flu vaccine as part of the discussion with one individual. Where I stand on other vaccines isn't anyone's business.

No, shellfish allergies mean the first two vaccines are no goes for me.

If you have an interest in the vaccine and wanted to discuss medical facts/recommendations, PM me.  I'm not an infectious disease/epidemiology specialist, but I'm a physician whose been working through this pandemic and have a wife with tree nut allergies.  So I've gotten a bit in depth on guidelines, data, and the objective medical science regarding the mRNA vaccines and food allergies.

No, and have no intention on getting one. Don't get flu shots either.

I don't think you are alone....there are plenty of people not getting this vaccine.  C-19 will be with us forever as it changes and keeps coming back as a new variant.

I have been faithfully wearing a mask for 1 year and have not had a cold or the flu in that time.  I usually get a cold every 6 weeks....and I get the flu every few years.  I'm understanding the true value of wearing a mask.  It is a pain to wear a mask, but it is nice not getting a cold.
