Great Wall Hobby G.W.H L4824 1/48 Su-27 “Flanker B” Heavy Fighter

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I received GWH Su-27. Unfortunately, the product came out in poor quality, the injection molds are not straight, which led to the curvature of the fuselage and wings. In addition, there was a crack in the part of the windshield glass.
I purchased this kit from ebay and requested a replacement parts or refund.

That kit looks more like its been crushed for an extended time.

Ud be requesting a refund as well.

None if my 6 look even remotely like that gladly.

It looks like its been left in the sun but still the entire upper fuselage comes packaged against heavy card to avoid warping so the only way it can end up like that is under load.
Shipping issue.

Nothing wrong... just some extreme "g"

also, some hot water can fix it, possibly..

it reminded me my old days, the struggles with academy flankers 🙂

That won't fix the crack on the windshield, thou.

Recent rumors are that they even answer.

I contacted Lion Roar, they told the seller to make a request, only the seller can request replacement parts. As the seller said, 'we paid parts for you and are waiting for them to be received'. You can send email with request on lionroar@vip.sina.com

Would be nice to know where and how to order or preorder... DW Detail & Wonder is nowhere to find except for some pictures on Twitter.

I don't see the point to make people salivate without giving them any information. Is Detail & Wonder GWH related ? Is it a Haneto's initiative.....

Thanks for the info.

One question.
As good as I know, there are serious problem with resin streng. I heard many times that sometimes resin models has seriously distorted landing gear, or flatted down wings, after year or few, after the build. Just because that is resin feature, nothing more.
I wish to know if I would use that gears under big and heavy model of Su-27, could I have any guarantee that it will not ever happen?

But, this is 3D printed, not resin?

Standard 3D pinter resin (DLP or SLA printers) is quite brittle in nature and the more it is exposed to UV light (i.e. stored unpainted in the open) the more brittle it will become. HOWEVER: new resins have been and are being developed with varying properties. There are resins that lend elasticity to the finished print so the parts will bend but not break. On the other end of the spectrum there are resins that incredibly strong and tough. It's been a challenge to combine the resin's ability to print very fine detail with those physical properties, but such resins have appeared on the market. From what I've read in the pre-announcements of this product, it's been printed with the latter, i.e. fine detail but tough. Also, there are metal pins to be inserted into the main struts.

I haven't got these Flanker legs nor do I have a Flanker kit (yet) but I'd be keen to investigate 🙂

Cheers,

J

Ok, but we do not know what resin will be used, and I know nothing about any metal reinforcement inside those landing gears.
Following that I do believe there is very risky to buy few very fragile, or potentially bending resin parst (also very expensive, I suppose), which do not makes sure they will hold the whole big and heavy model of Su-27.
