Scaling Cheat Sheet

Recommended Posts

From time to time in the past I've noticed that scaling seems to confuse a lot of modelers, so here's a little cheat sheet that may help. I've always found that when measuring plastic to cut, it's much easier to work in mm than inches.

In the chart the top line is the scale you're working in.

The second row is what you multiply the actual number of inches of the real part you're duplicating by to find out how many mm long it is in the scale you're working in.

If you have a measurement that is listed in feet and inches,  multiply the feet by 12, add to the inches and multiply by the scale factor.
