CD48209 - 1/48 Postwar B-25

The text looks to be stencil text and says:

     UNITED STATES

AIR FORCE ACADEMY

The bird is the USAFA mascot, a gray falcon, facing forward, wings stretched up & out, tail spread, head down, looking from a rear 3/4 view.  Here are a few examples from USAFA patches and pennants.  However, these are from the front and the falcon is clutching two lightning bolts.

I believe the badge on the tail of this T-33 is exactly the same version of the period-correct AFA badge on the tail of the B-25:

These are so cool.   I was stationed at the Academy for 10 years and had no idea that the USAFA operated TB-25's or T-33's.   I am just speculating that these were when they were operating out of Lowry AFB in Denver while the Academy was being built in Colorado Springs.   I suppose they could have been flown out of Peterson AFB.   Would love to know the background on these.

An Academy grad friend of mine told me that the cadets used to get “incentive rides” in a T-33 during one of their summers at the Academy. He was there in the early to mid 1970s... At that time they flew out of Peterson AFB I believe...
