All downhill from here...

Recommended Posts

For those of you who didn't know,  I am a submariner and for the last 2 1/2 years I have been in command of my own boat. Today was my change of command to give her up.  I can't imagine any more exciting or challenging job.  Now,  I need to get to work on some models after giving time back to the wife and kids.

Cheers,

Dave

This of course begs a question: What kind of submarine? Or is it classified? 🙂

Happy modeling!

Ha ha... not classified... USS INDIANA  (SSN 789) a Block III Virginia Class SSN.

Staying in,  but time for some leave before the next job.

Since you like subs maybe a visit to Nautilus Drydocks would be interesting.  He has models of several types of subs.  Most are of a good size and if wanted can be used in the water.

I have a large model of the Sequest which is somewhat over 3 feet, and Disney's Nautilus sits at about 18 inches.

He lso has a online gettogether about every month.

Thanks. The new CO makes me look super short. He's 6-6.

It was an honor to have the reins of the Bad fool Battle Bass for a while.

No doubt this forum has a lot of interesting people from all walks of life, and you had one of my list of dream jobs.

Best of luck in this new phase of your life, enjoy your family and hobby.

If you end up in DC, we have some good clubs in the area. Congrats on the FINEX of your CMD tour and having a band playing when you walked out the door. As you know from your previous tours...flying or driving a desk isn’t as much fun, so hopefully your next tour lands you with good people and boss.

Cheers

Collin
