Setting up new hobby room

Recommended Posts

After a 7yr hiatus, we are finally back in a house with enough space for me to setup my hobby room again!!
This will probably be my last chance to set it up they way I’ve always wanted it so I’m going all out!!
So far I have built a main work table along side a mechanics tool box. (Which will eventually have a spray booth on top).

I’ve also just completed a precut “workbench” from a guy in Canada. After weeks of searching everything from sewing storage to spice racks, his kit was exactly what I was looking for!!
I’ll post up in progress pics as “progress” is made but until then..... here’s the “workbench”, table and tool box for now.

Starting to get organized.
A lot of my supplies are severely outdated but may still have some life left in them.
Ended up having to throw a lot of them out.
I’ll replenish once I figure out the “first” project once the room is totally set up.

That's a good start your story is similar to mine you'll find a renewed enthusiasm for the hobby. You'll also find that with more space comes more stuff to fill it. Soon you'll be adding on LOL. Here is where I started a few years back

Then I added this

Then a year later this cabinet

And...then I moved to a bigger room

Behind this is another desk with an organizer for taking photos in progress. Most of the time I have 2-3 planes in various stages and I try to keep them contained but ready to work on. I think I need therapy. I could use a room three times the size. I have been eyeing a 3D printer just need a place to put it arrrrg.

  • 8 months later...

It’s been a minute since I started this thread but here’s a shot of the “mostly” completed workbench.
The red cart is a mobile airbrush stand. I still need to build a small booth that’ll sit on top and vent out the window.
