JEN722
I am about to start building my KH SH-60F as a NSAWC bird (probably the two-tone brown one). Does anyone know whether either of the the sonar buoy launchers is installed on those airframes? My own guess is they are not (partly due to the blanked off port side). Also, any pointers to interior shots of the NSAWC birds are most welcome. TIA, Jens
Dave Williams
The SH-60F didn’t carry the side mounted sonobuoy launched like the SH-60B. It had a manually loaded 6 tube launcher in the floor behind the front seats. The kit has the hatch for the tubes that gets stuck to the underside, and the carrousel for holding the sonobuoys. It also has the internal part of the launcher that goes on the cabin floor on the sprues, but it’s not mentioned in the instructions. Other than the new parts, the kit just reuses the entire SH-60B cabin, which isn’t quite the same on the Oceanhawk.
JEN722
Thanks Dave. I think I will go for an almost empty cabin then. Jens
