I decided to finish this kit so I grabbed it off the "shelf of doom". I had gotten

the slats cut and glued together and added back on to the wing. I saw this done

at a site a few years back and decided to give it a try. If it works out as good as

I want I will also do it to my 1/72 Italeri F-100F which I plan to do as a "Misty FAC". jon

I cut the slats off the top and bottom wings then glued them together. I

Then added some card stoick, not sure if it was .015 or .020 thick, to shim up

the void left from cutting the largest portion out. jon

The cockpit is assembled and painted. I also ordered Caracal decals CD72071 for F100 in Vietnam.

It has decals for the F-100D and F-100F so I now have decals for my future F-100F Misty FAC also. jon

Thanks, the cockpit is not the focal point of my build, sorry. I built this kit a few years ago

and when the canopy is on there's not much to see. The best part of this kit is the correct

sized drop tanks, ESCI gives you 335 gallon and not 275 gallon tanks. I now have the cockpit

installed and wings on. jon
