thegoodsgt
To provide a better assessment, what specific paints did you use, i.e., the manufacturer(s)?
Dog1
i used Gunze mr color lacquer yellow on primed surface white Mr Surfacer same company . . I used the usual tape , copy of tamiya tape . The next day morning there is yellow faint spray all over the remainder of the white surface . amazing !!?? In the meantime i striped the entire paint and reprimed . Applied the yellow and taped all the rest and waiting 24 hrs to remove the tape . habu2
Was there yellow “invasion” under your taped/masked sections? Were you using a vented spray booth?
Bob Beary
Sounds to me like you did not mask enough or seal the white surrounding area tightly enough and just got over spray. Bob
Dog1
no spray under tape , i dont use a booth , just mask , fan and open window . 24 hrs have passed and i removed the tape and there is no yellow spray marks on the surface of the tape , I am now going to leave it that way 24 hrs and see what happens and report back . Dog1
no spray residue a day later . so the trick is to cover entirely the adjacent color .
ElectroSoldier
Sounds like over spray not colour bleed to me but on the info we have Im not 100% sure on anything
Dog1
it was overspray but it appeared a day later which i found odd . I now cover entirely adjacent areas for 24 hrs .
ElectroSoldier
There will be no time delay on over spray, it is possible that the coat is very light and it doesnt appear to be visible for a few hours though. But the over spray happened at the time you sprayed the paint.
