I have an idea which involves a stand-mounted F4U-1D but it doesn't seem as though any of the available kits have an option to build with retracted gear. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it easy enough to build, say, the Tamiya kit gear-up? Or is there an option that won't require much work in the way of packing, filling etc? Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Joe Hegedus Posted July 10, 2021 Share Posted July 10, 2021 I don’t think any of the options readily available are really intended to be built gear-up, but I’d say that the option that would probably be the least hassle to build that way would be the Hasegawa offering (which is actually an F4U-1A; it lacks the inner wing pylons that make a -1D a -1D).
