scimitar
Is it possible to model a Mig 29K in 1/72 from currently available kits? Are the differences with other Mig-29 versions all that noticeable like the sturdier undercarriage in said scale? Thanks!
Berkut
Note that there are two different kinds of MiG-29K, the original one that was in competition against Su-27K (Su-33) and the modern one. They are very different. The short answer to your question is; Nope. A vanilla MiG-29 (9.12/9.13) is radically different from either of the K's and one would essentially have to scratch build everything, it is far more involved than the landing gear. scimitar
Thanks Berkut, that's what I 'feared.' Oh well, have too many kits anyway....

hemspilot
The original K was based on the Izdelie 13 (9.13), but had redesigned trailing edge slotted flaps, no auxiliary intakes and other changes similar to the Mig-29M, while the current Mig-29K/Mig-35 is a totally different beast. scimitar
Habu, my disappointment clouded my reason; I didn't know what I was e-saying....Thanks to my fellow Joisyite Hems for that info....So is it possible to mix, match, hash to come up with a reasonable K??? Thadeus
I remember there was a resin Mig-29K/35 somewhere on the internet https://www.scalemates.com/pl/kits/scratchaeronautics-mig-29k-kub-russian-navy--1282131 No injected plastic though. Shame really, as it's a very nice aircraft. I hope I'll live long enough for Zvezda to release one 😉
