Does the VF-171 Aces 151064 / AD-070 NAS Key West, FL 1980s [tan/green/brown camouflage] have no national insignia?  Hmmm???  I cannot spot it.

This aircraft does not seem to have national insignia:  https://www.cloud9photography.us/Military-Aviation-10/Douglas-A-4-Skyhawk-Military/i-656RsbT/A   No, it is not being obscured by the spoilers - I have other photos showing the entire fuselage.

KursadA,

Thank for the follow up on my query.

Yes, wasn't the 155022 a Super Fox F by 1974 when it got the new fin and uprated engine? The sheet covers the differences between the 1973 and 1974 markings (correct commander names for each, etc.) and will allow you to build either one.

Kursad,

Happy New Year.  If I may add one more small request, all black markings. A-4F 154976 VMA-142 "FLYING GATORS JAX FLA MARINES" (on intake trunk); tiny "MB 10" on tail and tiny "10" on nose, besides the usual "A-4F 154976" Type designator & BuNo under the tail.  Not much, so should fit on the black portion of the sheet. [See page 27 of Possible New Topics thread for more photos of this aircraft.]

BTW, here is a thread on Britmodeller showing the same aggressor A-4E 151064, but two to three years later with VF-171 in 1980 with a modified paint scheme and markings quite different from the 1977-1978 photos that Kursad and I posted.  It even has US insignia.

Here is the aircraft history from http://www.forgottenjets.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/a4d5-151022-151201.html.

*1979-84: VF-171. [Note: Painted and marked as noted in Britmodeller link.]
*1984-85: VA-45 as AD-610.

Just for you Andy (and 11bee)!

Correct - I definitely try to add a Boston area subject for Andy and other folks whenever there is a chance. Same goes for TX, MD, NJ and a few other states I have lived in/visited.

I'll tell you what, my collection of finished models in New England area markings has grown a bit and I have lots of subjects in the "to do" pile thanks to the decal sheets you've done. I really appreciate it! I even have a couple old "Kedi"  (I believe that was you as well Kursad??) decals sheets with the Red Sox and Patriots special markings...and even a very rare Springfield Falcons sheet.

Yep - that was my first attempt at this business. I am glad some of these sheets are still around - I can still hear the incredible racket of that fragile ALPS printer running all night.
