jonwinn
I am going to re do the long lost model I did many years ago. Same kit, Minicraft 1/144 in American Airlines livery with cone not chisel tail cone. My son, his mom and I flew this from NY to CA in 1989. Landed in San Diego then on to Disney. My 5 year old son earned his "plastic" AA wings on that flight. Here's the long lost model and the current in progress one. jon Edited October 27, 2021 by jonwinn grammar

jonwinn
The engines are assembled and interiors painted. I may paint these and set them aside to add after the air frame is completely painted. It worked good on the original I built. jon
Gator52
Looking good; I built this many years ago and wouldn't mind doing another AA MD-80 sometime (hopefully better). Chris
jonwinn
Thanks, I was considering the Eastern Express 1/144 kit, said to be more detailed, I've never seen it so I can't confirm or deny it. jon

le_boz
Nice progress I like the way you add the weight in the front, something to keep in mind when I finish my plaid stock 😄
