jonwinn
I just started this. I recently discovered some Pilgrim relatives long lost in my family history. So here is my 1/83 Revell Mayflower build. jon Edited November 22, 2021 by jonwinn
jonwinn
Some deck and sidewall painting. The ochre brown (mustard) is what Mayflower II is painted, sorta. Deck is tan then chocolate brown and rear deck has some experimental gray wash. That rear most deck will NEVER be seen, it will be hidden by bulk heads and upper decks. jon Edited November 3, 2021 by jonwinn

jonwinn
I have more decks and bulkheads added. The fit is far from stellar, typical of old Revell from the '60s. I have to use twist tie turn buckles and small amounts of putty to make it look "floatable", fill the gaps so it won't leak. I can see lots of detail painting on the rails and bulkheads. I am almost wishing I had bought the Trumpeter kit. jon
dwomby
It's good to see this oldie being built. Coming together nicely. David
jonwinn
Thanks, the hull bottom and stand painted. I also started painting the lettering on the stand. I need to get it on the stand ASAP, it is getting hard to handle. jon Edited November 5, 2021 by jonwinn
jonwinn
I have the stand glued on and added ladders and detail painted more deck parts. jon

jonwinn
Thanks, slow work, I need to mask the hull for more "striping". I have the masts started. I found some colors for the outside of the hull and another for the masts. They are Vallejo colors which seem to be good matches. jon
