CD48197 - 1/48 QF-4E Team Target

Recommended Posts

CD48197 will be a 1/48 sheet with seven QF-4E marking options, mostly for the heritage schemes worn in the last few years of QF-4E operations. It is designed to fit the Zoukei-Mura kit (obviously with the Hypersonic conversion until ZM releases a late E), but it will work with earlier kits.

FInished and sent to print, will be available in February.

Sioux Falls open house and airshow, July 2012.  The Heritage jet was very glossy, but did not fly for that portion of the show.  P-38 and F-22.

Always somebody in my frame when I shoot static shots...

Would the SWS Early F-4E kit be suitable as a basis for conversion or are QF-4Es based on later airframes? Just asking ☺️

Arnaud,

They were definitely all later airframes with the slats. The only hard wing drones were the RF-4C's converted towards the end of the program.

Also shot at Tyndall in 2015, this RF-4C and F-4E (above) were the last two QF-4s launched (and shot down) from Tyndall before they switched to QF-16s.

In the second pic the guy kneeling on the left intake is Jake Melampy.
