'69 Dodge Charger R/T-1/25 Revell

I decided to replace my destroyed '68 Charger with the same color, sublime green, but a '69, moving up a year. I WON'T even consider foil for the chrome, I will mask and paint. Here it is so far. jon

I sanded off the "vinyl roof". I want it all sublime green as in the image below. It still has a few fine scratches, looks like I will wet sand from 2000 to 6000 grit. jon

My competition. My wife is building a '50 Chevy pick up to paint red and wants to make it look old by dullcoting, a Christmas project, she keeps seeing these old red dull pick ups at the craft shops on Christmas displays,  so I told her why not build one. She's trying to finish before I do with my Charger, may just happen. This is only her 2nd model, her first was a Revell '56 Chevy 2 tone sedan. jon

I added the headers. They line up good with the exhaust. jon

I sprayed the body inside, headliner, windshield pillars and rear deck area black, masked then sprayed body color sublime green. jon

Nice work on you car and your wife's truck.  A friend of mine had a 70 Cuda in sublime with a black vinyl top.  It was a 440, 4spd car with hounds tooth interior.

Cuda was a cool car, my mother won a '71 Cuda 440 with a six pack in 1971 BUT she had 6 kids so she swapped it for a '71 Satellite wagon. Won it by entering a Close Up tooth paste contest. Here she is picking it up after work still in her nurses uniform. john

On it's "feet". I just masked and sprayed the front and back grills black where needed. Almost ready for decals. John

These are some nice kits. I built one a year or so ago and aside from a few hiccups it was a complete dream to build. I've really gotta hand it to you on that interior. Looks great.
