Niels
Nice! That means my Hasegawa EA-18G definately will become an F/A-18F instead. Will be looking forward to this one - as if I needed any more model kits 😝
flybywire
Has anybody actually built the E/F hornet versions from Meng yet? Is it really the best there is now in the market, in all aspects of the kit I mean, compared to Hasegawa? I asked because I'm contemplating of buying their upcoming Growler. Tapchan
I'm curious about other paint schemes. Anyway, box one is fine enough and this kit will surely get to my stash. I've just received F/A-18F and it look absolutely awesome in the box, I like the wheel wells details.

Brush
Looking at the CAD images I suspect Meng have made the same mistake as Hobby Boss by using the same front fuselage halves as their other F/A-18s with the gun grills forward of the landing gear. Hopefully I am wrong otherwise filling will be required.

The nose has the blister just aft of the nose cone on the sides which is unique to the Growler version, so it may be a different nose section. What is does have over the HB kit, for example: -includes Aero-5 launch adapter for Harm Missiles -includes low band ALQ-99 pod -the wingtip pods are mounted correctly (forward mount on wings) -the wingtip pods include the vents/scoops between the pod fins Looks to be an accurate out of box build, but actual plastic will tell the full story.
