MAC, SAC, TAC & Naval Aviation Magazine Archives - now with added Army!

Recommended Posts

For those interested in such things, I've recently located three archive sources from where pdf copies of MAC, SAC and TAC magazines can all be freely downloaded:

239 issues (plus separate indexes) of The MAC Flyer are here:

https://archive.org/search.php?query=The MAC Flyer&and[]=mediatype%3A"texts"&and[]=collection%3A"pub_mac-flyer"

151 issues of SAC's Combat Crew are here:

https://archive.org/search.php?query=Combat+Crew&sort=titleSorter&and[]=firstTitle:C&and[]=subject%3A"United+States.+Air+Force.+Strategic+Air+Command"

375 issues of TAC Attack are available here:

https://www.acc.af.mil/Units/ACC-Safety/Magazine-Archive/

Downloads are all quick and hassle-free...

There are 47 assorted issues of Interceptor here:

Thanks for the link! My uncle, Lt Col Miedrich, wrote an article in the June ‘76 issue. That Miss Interceptor on the last page would be a grandmother now. Times sure have changed since back then!

In the interests of fairness, I should include the Naval Aviation News archive too:

https://www.history.navy.mil/research/histories/naval-aviation-history/naval-aviation-news/back-issues.html

It will be interesting to find in which issue the magazine mentions the creation of TOPGUN (it certainly doesn't in May 69' - just checked the issue) or an article about the school during operations.

Just discovered these - haven't checked all the years for completeness, but the archive goes right back to 1953:

https://armyaviationmagazine.com/archive/back-issues/

Have discovered the link for the third 1976 issue is broken, and opens a page incorrectly instead of downloading automatically - the page address just needs altering to end '76_03.pdf'

And these - all of the recent issues are freely-available, but it appears that access to the older archived ones require an official(?) login:

It appears, however, that the vast majority of earlier issues are also available here:
