ORANGF15Guy
I just retired and as a treat to myself I bought a new airbrush! I’ve been using a Badger 150 that I bought 40 years ago! I bought an Iwata HP-CS and I have a cleaning question…..can you use lacquer thinner to clean it without doing any damage? I don’t know if this brush has any internal seals that might be compromised by using lacquer thinners, but my paint of choice is MRP Acrylic Lacquer! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Bob Beary
I clean mine with lacquer thinner all the time. No problem. Bob
Alternative 4
I clean my cheap harbor freight airbrush with lacquer thinner and its fine. Once I have cleaned the airbrush with lacquer thinner, I then spray isopropel alcohol followed by water to dilute any lacquer that remains in the airbrush. This stops the thinner doing anything nasty to the airbrush between spray sessions.

ElectroSoldier
HP-CS has PTFE seals that will not be affected by lacquer thinners at all. You could even go up to Acetone or Cellulose thinners without worry.
noahenholm
US Art Supply great cleaner for smaller airbrush apertures that aren't overly thick. It's simple to use, cleaning a brush I'd put off cleaning for far longer than I should have, and proved to be a great value for the money!
