Camus272
I'm in with another attempt (third try has to be the one to be finished). So, I'll keep it simple : Hasegawa F-16N in the Sukhoi blue scheme.
Kurt H.
Thank you for joining, this looks like a cool scheme to do. And yes Third time is the charm, good luck!
Thadeus
Oh, nice. An F-16N. I'm pulling up a chair!
Camus272
Basic construction done.
Camus272
A coat of primer done. My first attempt at using Mr Surfacer, I probably should have tested it on something else. I don't normally use much primer, but I'm trying to make my Model Master stash last, some I'm looking at ways to conserve paint. Camus272
Got some color on it - all Model Master. This is the first kit I've actually worked on in 18 months and I'm realizing how out of practice I am. A lot of touch-up is needed to get it where I want it. But, I'm hopeful that I can permanently relearn from my mistakes here, and maybe work out a whole line of F-16Ns for this build.
Geoff M
Looks good so far. Geoff M
Kurt H.
Looking good, I see where the touch up is needed but it is a great paint job over all.
Camus272
So, after my compressor decided to give up and I had to run to Home Depot... Touch-ups are almost done. Some things that I had painted with Hataka and AK pulled up under the masking and had to be completely redone. So, now it's time to move on the final assembly stage. Camus272
OK, calling this one done. A simple decal job, followed by a lot of fixing this-and-that. It could have been a little better, especially if I was more careful with masking (a good lesson), but I definitely like the way this one looks. I think this now one of my favorite Viper schemes. Photos are pretty rare, and I find it's place in the evolution interesting, as this was the first variation of the original F-16N aggressor scheme, but is somewhat similar to the current USAF splinter scheme. Now, I'm hoping to clean some stuff of the bench by tomorrow so I can look at the F-18 build, and another Viper quite soon. Edited April 19, 2022 by Camus272
Thadeus
Came out lovelly! Buidling these Vipers You really need to be on the lookout for the small details - I'd no idea the refueling door stencil was not present on this variation of the scheme!
